What jewellery says about us
Jewellery, whether made from precious metals or "costume" jewellery, speaks about us.
They are messages, signs and symbols. They reveal information about our religious, ethnic, professional, political or sexual affiliations.
They are also used to convey messages of love, to seduce or subjugate, or as objects of superstition.
They reflect our social identity, showing that we are married (wedding rings), that we have inherited (family signet rings or grandparents' jewellery) or that we have children (pregnancy bola or personalised pendant with first names).
Whether discreet or ostentatious, jewellery shows our tastes, our relationship with femininity and our history.
